Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is the Chief Guest at the XXVII Convocation of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Shillong today.
The Union Minister will deliver the keynote lecture and present the prizes to the University’s winners. A total of 127 medalists are expected to receive their honors at the convocation ceremony, including 38 University gold medalists and 87 Rector’s Gold medalists in various categories.
Conrad K. Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, the Guest of Honour and will address the house in addition to handing out prizes, awards, and citations. Professor P. S. Shukla, NEHU’s Vice-Chancellor, will preside over the Convocation Ceremony and confer degrees on the candidates.
A total of 2103 candidates, including 83 Ph.D.s, 06 M. Phils, 540 Post Graduates, and 1474 Graduates in various fields, are anticipated to receive their degrees in person, while 13855 others will get their degrees in their absence during the Convocation.
Meanwhile, at the NEHU Convocation event in Shillong, the Meghalaya Chief Minister greets the Union Education Minister.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister also paid a visit to Delhi a few weeks ago to discuss the difficulties students face in taking the CUET exam, and the Union Minister responded positively by exempting Meghalaya colleges from the exam.
