Video: Shanghai Residents scream at the top of their lungs during a complete lockdown

Several disturbing recordings from Shanghai, China’s financial center, have gone viral on social media amid a strict lockdown to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.

People can be heard yelling from their balconies in the latest footage, as they appear to be fed up with the lockout and restrictions. As part of the country’s “zero COVID” policy, China’s largest city has been under lockdown since April 5. The city’s 26 million residents have been told to stay at home.

Dr. Eric Feigl-Ding  posted a video on Twitter showing Shanghai residents from high rises shouting in frustration about the lockdown.

“After 7 days of city lockdown, residents in #Shanghai are shouting from high-rise apartments. The narrator is concerned that there will be significant issues. (in Shanghainese dialect, he predicts that people would not be able to hold out for much longer, implying disaster)” Ding is a Twitter user.
