Watch: 18 yr old Brevis from Mumbai Indians, hits India’s Star for 4, 6, 6, 6, 6 in an over

Dewald Brevis showed off his skills once again on Wednesday in Pune, as he smacked Punjab Kings’ Rahul Chahar all over the place. The Mumbai Indians teenager’s brilliant innings wasn’t enough to give his team their first win in the IPL 2022, but it was enough to make the cricket world take notice.

Brevis, nicknamed ‘Baby AB’ for his comparison of South African legend AB de Villiers to himself in the U19 World Cup earlier this year, smashed four consecutive sixes in an IPL match and is on track to become the youngest foreign player to score 50 runs in the tournament.

He was eventually removed for 49 runs off 25 balls off the penultimate delivery of the match’s 11th over.

At the start of the ninth over, Brevis had a run-a-ball 16 on the board. Tilak Varma was on the mound and got a single on the first pitch. Brevis then pounced on Chahar, knocking the ball past the bowler and sending it soaring to the boundary for a four. The next ball was lofted above Chahar’s head, as de Villiers frequently does, and the ball blasted into the sight screen for the over’s first six.
