Watch: Gold worth Rs30 lakh hidden under a wig seized at Delhi airport

There are many crimes that keep airport authorities around the world on their toes, including gold smuggling. Although airports have much stricter security rules, people still smuggle it despite them. They use a variety of methods to get across without being caught.

Customs authorities at Delhi Airport have apprehended a traveller arriving from Abu Dhabi for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 30 lakh. Under his wig and in his rectum, the man was concealing the gold.

Customs authorities in this city have apprehended a guy for allegedly smuggling gold worth over Rs 30 lakh into the nation by concealing it within a wig he wore and in his rectum, according to an official statement released on Wednesday.

Officials apprehended the accused after he arrived at the Delhi airport from Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The passenger’s personal and baggage check resulted in the discovery of three pouches wrapped in adhesive tape weighing 686 grams that were hidden behind his wig (one pouch) and his rectum (two capsule-shaped pouches), according to a statement released by Delhi customs.

The 30.55 lakh worth of gold secreted within these pouches was recovered, and the passenger with an Indian passport was apprehended, according to the report.

He was nabbed at Terminal 3 of the IGI airport, according to Customs Commissioner’s Office.
