Tailor birds are called “tailor birds” because of their nature of making magnificent houses by stitching the leaves to another leaf.

The process of making a nest is very interesting to watch as it pierces the edges of a large leaf and is sewn together with plant fiber or spider silk to make a cradle in which the actual nest is built.
