In Madhya Pradesh’s Morena region, an eight-year-old boy spent a few hours carrying the body of his younger brother in his lap as his father searched for an ambulance to take the dead youngster home. The event sparked controversy, with some accusing the government of being “insensitive.”
The incident took place on Sunday outside a district hospital in Morena, located about 30 km from Badfara village, where the family lived.
A covered body of the child’s two-year-old brother, who passed away in the hospital while receiving treatment, was seen next to him as the boy sat along the hospital’s perimeter wall in the video.
Surendra Gurjar, a resident medical officer at Morena District Hospital, reported that Pujaram Jatav, a resident of Badfara village, brought his two-year-old son Raja on Sunday morning via ambulance after being referred from a hospital in the district’s Ambah town.
The child passed away on Sunday afternoon while receiving treatment for anaemia and other illnesses, according to him. The ambulance left them at the district hospital before returning to Ambah. Jatav, the father of the deceased child, asked hospital employees for an ambulance after the infant passed away, but the vehicle wasn’t accessible at the time, according to the official.
The child’s body was later delivered to Jatav’s house by a police car, the man claimed. Sources claim that the deceased child’s older brother was seen on video accompanying Jatav as he proceeded to call for an ambulance while carrying the body.
Kamal Nath, the head of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, expressed sorrow over the occurrence and said that villagers’ efforts led to the arrangement of a vehicle to transport the body.
A 2-year-old boy’s body was found in the lap of an innocent 8-year-old Morena youngster who was sitting in the hospital. In an official declaration, Nath claimed that his father Pujaram Jatav had been appealing for an ambulance to transport his son’s body to their village for hours.
