Five people were arrested for harming a woman by tying her up to the electrical pole and beating her up in the Rohtas district of Bihar after her husband was accused of having extramarital affair with another man in the village.
On Friday, a husband Deepak Ram came to the police station regarding his wife’s affair and asked them to intervene in the matter on which the police called the couple and counseled them in the Police station.
However, Deepak Ram, his father Shivpujan Ram and other three family members tied the woman to the electricity pole outside their house and thrashed after they reached their village Singhpu.
A police team headed right away after they have been reported of the incident to the spot and rescued the woman, Ashish Bharti, Superintendent of Police, Rohtas said.
“Five people, including her husband and father-in-law, have been arrested in connection with the incident,” Mr Bharti said.
Police have registered a case against those who were involved and further investigation is on.
