Adding another one of four dead in a train derailed in southern Germany
Following a train derailment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, on Friday, June 3, 2022 emergency workers and rescue team found another body under the rubble of a train that derailed, bringing the total number of fatalities to five, police said on Saturday.
As of Friday it was record of four people killed and 15 severely injured has been reported, and early this Saturday another body was found.
The regional train was traveling in the direction of Munich when it derailed near Burgrain, north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a ski resort in the Bavarian Alps.
Another 44 people were hurt in the derailment, tweeted local police, with some suffering from serious injuries.
The cranes made the success after numerous attempts on Saturday to lift at least one carriage of the train which had rolled off the tracks.
Regional and national politicians visited the site and expressed their shock. The investigation is still underway over the cause of the derailment in the picturesque mountainous region north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria.
