Prabhakar Sail, a witness for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs case involving Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan’s son, died on Friday. According to his lawyer, Sail, 36, died of a heart attack at home.
Based on a discussion he allegedly overheard in which a payoff of Rs. 25 crore was proposed, Prabhakar Sail was supposed to be a key witness in the case. According to the charges, Rs. 8 crore of the entire claimed money was intended for Sameer Wankhede, the officer who was previously directing the NCB investigation.
During a political squabble, Wankhede disputed all claims against him and was later transferred.
KP Gosavi, another NCB witness in the drugs-on-cruise case, had a selfie with Aryan Khan become public when a Goa-bound cruise ship was arrested, and Sail was his bodyguard.
According to Sail’s statement, his boss, Kiran P Gosavi, had a communication with a man named Sam D’Souza. According to the affidavit, Gosavi informed a particular person named Sam D’Souza, “You place a bomb of 25 crores and let’s settle at 18 final because we have to provide 8 crores to Sameer Wankhede.”
After spending several weeks in jail, Aryan Khan was granted bail in the high-profile drugs case last October. A special Narcotics, Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court granted the NCB’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) a 60-day extension to file a charge-sheet in the case earlier this week.
