Ashit Barua from Shillong crowned Junior Mr Universe India; brought laurels to the State
Making the state immensely proud, Ashit Baruah, son of a well-known bodybuilder and former Mr. Meghalaya Raju Baruah of Shillong, brought the state honors. Ashit Baruah, a bodybuilder from Shillong, won the Mr Universe India title in the 60-70 kg category at the Indian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation’s recently ended International Bodybuilding Championship in Pune.
In the 65-70 kg weight category, Baruah also won first place at the Mr India National Championship 2022.
On Wednesday, he landed in Shillong and was welcomed with open arms by his family and friends. In an interview with the media, Baruah acknowledged his success to his father, saying that he was encouraged to enter the field by his father, who was also a body builder. His father, Raju Baruah, is a bodybuilder who has previously won numerous titles for the state.
