Assamese actor Nipon Goswami passes away

On Thursday morning, veteran Assamese actor Nipon Goswami, who was being treated at a private hospital here for heart-related ailments, passed away. He was 80 years old.

Goswami, who was admitted to the hospital last Monday after his health deteriorated, was kept under monitoring in the intensive care unit.
He was born in Tezpur, graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, and made his film debut in the Assamese business in 1957 as a child actor in the film Piyali Phukan.

Later, he advanced in his career and took on numerous prominent roles, appearing in a number of Assamese films, including Sangram, Dr. Bezbarua, Kokadeuta Nati Aru Hati, Sandhya Raag, Ajoli Nobou, Siraj, Aparupa, Ghar Sangsar, Deutar Biya, Baibhav, and Hiya Diya Niya, Mukuta, Maanab.

On September 3, 1942, Nipon Goswami was born in the Assam city of Tezpur's Kolibari district. His mother was Nirupama Goswami, and his father was Chandradhar Goswami.
He attended Darang College after finishing his studies at the Government Higher Secondary School. At the Film and Television Institute of India, he pursued acting studies.
