The upcoming Mac Pro Chip from Apple could be four times faster than M2 Max

According to rumours, Apple's new Mac Pro will have chip options "at least twice or four times as powerful" as the yet-to-be-released M2 Max.

 According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has increased testing of the high-end Mac in preparation for its likely arrival next year, according to The Verge.

 According to Gurman's Power On newsletter, the machine would include new and more powerful in-house chips dubbed the 'M2 Ultra' and 'M2 Extreme.' The two variants have 24 and 48 CPU cores, 76 and 152 GPU cores, and 256GB of memory, respectively.

 This is in comparison to the original M2, which has 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, and the rumoured M2 Max, which will allegedly have 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores, according to The Verge.

He also revealed under-test Mac Pro combinations, which include 24 CPU cores, 76 GPU cores, and 192GB of memory.

 According to The Verge, it runs macOS Ventura 13.3, the first version of which will be available on Monday. Apple's USD 5,999 Mac Pro was released in 2019, and it's set for a refresh with Apple silicon.
