Biden nominated Indian Origin Shefali Razdon as US envoy to Netherlands

Shefali Razdan Duggal, an Indian-origin political activist, has been nominated as US President Joe Biden’s envoy to the Netherlands. The White House announced this on Friday, along with many other administrative and diplomatic appointments. According to the White House, Duggal has worked as Joe Biden’s National Co-Chair of Women and as a Deputy National Finance Chair at the Democratic National Committee.

Duggal, a mother of two, is an experienced political activist, a women’s rights champion, and a human rights crusader, according to the White House. She has also served on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Council as a past Presidential appointee. Shefali Razdan, the Western Regional Advisor, is still on the job.

As a member of Human Rights Watch’s San Francisco Committee and of Wake Forest University’s Leadership and Character Council, Biden-nominated political analyst is well-versed in human rights issues. Additionally, she served as a member of the National Board of Directors for Emily’s List.

At Miami University, Shefali Razdan studied Mass Communication, and at New York University, she earned an MA in Political Communication.

Among her many civic awards were being recognized as a Community Hero by the California State Assembly, receiving the Western Regional Leadership Award from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. She has also been named one of the Most Powerful Women in California by the National Diversity Council.
