Watch: BJP Solapur District President Allegedly Sexual Assault A Woman Party Worker; Removed From Post
President Shrikant Deshmukh of Bharatiya Janata Party Solapur district has been caught on camera over an alleged sexual assault. A woman in a hotel with him recorded the video and claimed she has been sexually assaulted by the Shrikant.
A woman named herself Nirmala Yadav who is a BJP Mahila Morcha leader. A video of Shrikant allegedly harassing the woman worker in a hotel surfaced online and started doing rounds on social media. After the clip went viral, the party reportedly asked Shrikant to resign.
He then resigned from his position as the district president of Solapur Rural on Tuesday. And his resignation has been accepted by Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakantdada Patil and handed over to Vikram Deshmukh for now. Notably, Vikram is the BJP Solapur city district president. The resignation came after he was accused of sexual harassment by a woman party worker.
