A local man allegedly raped a British woman who traveled to Goa with her husband at the Arambol beach in the city on the guise of giving her a massage. Vincent D’Souza, the accused, was a member of a group that unlawfully provided massage services near the Arambol beach in the North Goa area, which is well-known among international tourists. According to accounts, a local resident, Joel Vincent D’Souza, raped the woman on June 2 while she was relaxing on the beach, according to a senior police officer.
On Monday, the victim filed a complaint with the police, and an investigation is currently underway. However, this is not the first time a foreign woman has been raped in Goa.
A similar incident occurred on May 12 when a 12-year-old girl from a Russian family visiting India was raped in a hotel. The Russian family was actually vacationing at a resort in Arambol, Goa, and the other members had gone to the market, leaving the daughter alone in the hotel room. A room attendant discovered the girl alone in the room and assaulted her.
In this instance, the culprit was nabbed in Karnataka by Goa Police.
