As part of the MCD’s large effort against illegal construction and occupation in Delhi, bulldozers are expected to run through Shaheen Bagh today. The first phase of the MCD’s elimination of unlawful construction and habitation will continue in numerous parts of South Delhi from May 4 to May 13.
On the first day of the anti-encroachment effort, South MCD used bulldozers in the MB Road and Karni Singh Shooting Range sectors. A bulldozer will operate in the Shaheen Bagh region on May 9, according to a letter sent to the South and South East DCPs. The corporation has also requested that the police use considerable force.
Illegal encroachments would be cleared from Shaheen Bagh G Block to Jasola, and from Jasola Nala to Kalindi Kunj Park, according to the South MCD’s action plan. Bulldozers were supposed to be used in the regions of Shaheen Bagh on Thursday, May 5, after demolishing encroachments in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri and Tughlakabad, but this was postponed due to police absence.
Many protested against CAA-NRC, and Shaheen Bagh was in the spotlight for months.
