Canadian Sikh woman shot dead outside gas station

A 21-year-old Canadian-Sikh woman was fatally shot outside a Mississauga gas station in a "targeted" killing, according to police.
In the vicinity of Creditview and Britannia roads, at about 10.40 p.m. on December 3, Brampton resident Pawanpreet Kaur passed away at a Petro Canada petrol station. When police arrived, they discovered the victim who appeared to have been shot.

According to a statement from Peel Regional Police, life-saving procedures were made, however the woman ultimately died from her wounds.
The suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene on foot after the incident and was wearing just dark clothing, is being sought by police. The police have opened a homicide investigation, calling it a targeted incident.The crime scene has not yet yielded any weapons, according to the authorities.

There is no threat to the public's safety, they continue, and they have requested anyone who may have dashcam footage or information about what happened before, during, or after the incident to get in touch with the investigators.
