CBI(Central Bureau Investigation) has registered a new case of illegal gratification against senior Congress leader P Chidambaram’s son Karti for allegedly promoting visas of 250 Chinese nationals after receiving a Rs 50 lakh “bribe”.
The CBI regulated raids on at least 10 premises of Rajya Sabha MP Chidambaram and his son, Congress leader, and Lok Sabha MP Karti, across numerous locations, including their Delhi’s official residence and Chennai house, on Tuesday morning.
Following in which the CBI team searched in the Rajya Sabha MP Chidambaram residence, that incident he tweeted this morning, the CBI team has searched his residence in Chennai and official residence in Delhi showing him FIR, but the team did not find and the FIR they showed him has not mentioned his name as well.
Karti allegedly received Rs 50 lakh bribe to facilitate the visa of 250 Chinese nationals during the UPA regime for Talwandi Sabo power project in Punjab in 2010-2014, when Chidambaram was the Union home minister, said the officials.
