The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022-23 has been waived for Meghalaya. In a letter to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed him of this.
According to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, CUET will not be required for admission to undergraduate courses in institutes affiliated with the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya. In a letter to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, he explained that the exemption was granted for the current academic year due to geographic factors, remote regions, poor digital access, and infrastructure.
“…taking into account your concerns such as geographical conditions, hilly terrain, remote location, limited digital connectivity, infrastructure, etc., the affiliated colleges of NEHU will continue with the existing practice for admission instead of CUET,” wrote union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a letter to Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.
