The CUET has caused alarm as well as uncertainty among pupils. Meanwhile, Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) representatives met with Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Thursday to express their worries about the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

The National Testing Agency will administer the CUET in order to accept students to various undergraduate (UG) courses at the country’s central universities.

The new system, according to KSU administrators, has caused uncertainty among students.

“We raised numerous issues surrounding CUET, and the Minister guaranteed us that he would relieve the students’ load,” said R Kharjana, the KSU’s chairperson (education cell).

The KSU had asked the Minister for clarification on the Education Department’s intentions and strategy for relieving student issues during the meeting.

He stated that Rymbui had guaranteed them of all possible assistance to alleviate the pupils’ problems.

The North-Eastern Hill University the only central university in the state has decided to proceed with CUET, 2022, following a meeting with principals and heads of various institutes.

The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) had a consultation meeting with principals and heads of institutions, and it was determined to hold the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
