According to press reports citing sources, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a matter being investigated by the agency.
In the Panama Papers investigation, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. On the basis of the FEMA notice, film actress Aishwarya Rai will not appear before the ED today. She has submitted a letter to the ED headquarters in this regard. The ED had sent Aishwarya Rai with a FEMA notice and summoned her to the ED’s Delhi headquarters for questioning. Aishwarya Rai, on the other hand, has filed a letter to the ED stating that she will be unable to appear. A new notice will be issued by the Enforcement Directorate now. According to ANI, the ED has filed a money laundering complaint under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2022 in this instance. Aishwarya Rai has previously stated her unavailability to appear before the ED on two occasions.
Earlier in the case, the actress had been summoned twice. A list of the case’s lists was leaked in 2016, and it included 1100 Indians.
