Five Russian Planes Shot Down; Claimed Ukraine Military

The military of Ukraine reported on Thursday that five Russian planes and one helicopter were shot down in eastern Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin has declared war on Ukraine. Conflicts between Russian and Ukrainian military are “inevitable,” he warned. Putin even urged Ukrainian troops to “laid down their arms and return home.” The special military action, he said, was “aimed at demilitarising and denazifying Ukraine.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenksy said he attempted but failed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russia could unleash a “big battle in Europe” shortly, according to Zelenksy.

Volodymyr Zelenksy’s declaration comes as Ukraine faces Russian invasion threats. Because of the conflict with Russia, the Ukrainian authorities shuttered airports in eastern Ukraine from midnight to 7 a.m. In addition, at the request of the United Nations Security Council, an emergency meeting is being held.
