Former Meghalaya Speaker Abu Taher Mondal has resigned from Congress

Another shock struck for the Congress prior to the State Assembly elections in 2023 as Abu Taher Mondal, a former legislator from Meghalaya and speaker of the legislature, has resigned from the Congress party's primary membership with immediate effect. The former MLA, a native of West Garo Hills' Phulbari, has handed in his letter of resignation to the head of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
