To Meghalaya’s outstanding development, which has made the state and its citizens proud. This season’s Indian Women’s League, which kicked off today, will feature four young women from Meghalaya.
Nisilia Majaw, Wandashisha Marwein, and Iawanlang Nongbet are three of them who play for PIFA Sports FC in Maharashtra. Sanfida Nongrum, who will play for Sirvodem SC from Goa, is the other.
The four are among of the most well-known personalities in Meghalaya women’s football, having previously played club football in Maharashtra and Karnataka and for the state team. The Meghalaya Football Association has wished the four women well in the league, which will be held in Bhubaneswar and will include a total of 12 teams.
On Thursday evening, Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik met and talked with the Captains of the Hero Indian Women’s League. The Captains and squad members were wished the best of luck in their future matches by the CM.
The national competition will take place at three locations in Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Stadium, 7th Batallion Ground, and Capital Ground. The IWL is returned after a two-year hiatus, with the fifth edition scheduled for April 15th to May 26th, 2022.
The IWL, India’s top professional women’s football club league, will be televised live and exclusively on Eurosport India.
