Fuel prices, which had been steadily climbing over the previous week, stayed steady for the sixth day in a row on Tuesday in India, with the price of petrol in the national capital Delhi standing at 105.41 per litre. Petrol prices in Mumbai, the country’s financial center, are at an all-time high of 120.51 per litre, with diesel at 104.77 per litre.
Fuel costs, including gasoline, diesel, and natural gas, have been steady for the past six days, but they spiked in the days following the BJP’s victory in four Assembly elections in February and March.
Last Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices were raised by 80 paise per litre, bringing the total increase in rates in 16 days to Rs.10 per litre.
