Global inflation has not affected hiring in India, new jobs are up by 29%
Amid concerns about rising global inflation, Indian job seekers are not being negatively impacted in terms of their livelihood and spending, according to a new survey released on Thursday.
According to Indeed’s quarterly report, nearly 89 percent of employers believe that inflation will have no effect on how they hire and compensate people. In the April-June period, the Indian labour market increased by 29%. (as compared to a 20 per cent increase in the previous quarter).
According to Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales, Indeed India, “Sectors like IT, healthcare, and e-commerce will continue to develop, and with the introduction of 5G, we will see a substantial surge in telcom positions as well in the coming few quarters.” Employers looked at various engagement models, such as full-time, part-time, gig, or contractual work, during the quarter as a response to inflation that might help them manage applicant expectations as well as expenses.
The recruiting landscape in cities was dominated by metro areas, with Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai showing high hiring growth relative to other cities. Chandigarh’s hiring figures increased significantly from the previous quarter.
