Since the recent past, Assam has seen an increase in crime, including the capital city of Guwahati. Another such event occurred on Monday morning, when police retrieved the body of an unnamed person from the Ulubari neighborhood.
Murder and theft have been on the rise in the city, with the local police recovering at least 12 dead in the last nine days.
On Monday morning, residents discovered the body beneath the Ulubari flyover. According to Diganta Phukan, officer in-charge of Paltan Bazar police station, the deceased person was most likely a beggar.
The cause of death has yet to be determined, according to Phukan.
