The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has ordered all pharmacies and medical stores selling scheduled ‘H, H1, or X medications’ to install CCTV cameras inside and outside their enterprises in accordance with Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act & Rules, 1945. The DC has granted the CCTV cameras a month to be installed.
The District Drug Controller Authority/CWPO may randomly inspect the CCTV footage at any time, according to the DC’s directive. “In the event that any medical/pharmacy shop fails to comply with the order, the DC shall take appropriate action against such person/owner as authorized by relevant sections of legislation,” the order added.
