He rises to the situation and is a formidable match player: Virat Kohli, according to Jonathan Agnew

While speaking exclusively to ANI on Wednesday, former England player turned commentator Jonathan Philip Agnew lauded Virat Kohli for standing up in difficult situations and relishing the job of doing so on a constant basis.

"He's a different type of player than, say, Yadav." A little more traditional. He is a big occasion player. He rises to the challenge. That kind of task excites him. We witnessed him in action against Pakistan. That was a situation created for Kohli,” observed the BBC presenter while drawing comparisons with the playing style of Suryakumar Yadav.

When asked about the England bowlers' encounter against Virat, he stated that they have played with him enough to know where to bowl at him.

"England is extremely familiar with him." They know exactly where to bowl at him. As a result, England will believe they can keep Kohli in check when they bowl at him. Yadav, on the other hand, is more unpredictable. 'It's going to be a contest to watch,' Agrew added.

The former player believes that Adelaide's narrow square boundaries will help batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav, who can be lethal if not handled.

"Adelaide is a ground with a considerably different shape from the others. So you have very narrow straight limits and a very lengthy straight in this case. So they have players, especially Yadav. They intend to force him to hit straight. I believe it will be an exciting competition.

He travels at a frightening rate. "England has to control him in some way," he remarked.

Agnew proposed that England bowlers try to bowl off-pace deliveries to him in order to force him to hit the larger straight boundaries.

"They can slow down and attempt to make him hit straight, but he'll try to hit sideways." He wrecked Zimbabwe, and his execution was botched. They hit him with a bunch of full tosses.
