HMO India Clarifies On Rohingya Refugees As It “Has Not Given Directions To Provide EWS Flats

Home Minster of India took Twitter to clarified with earlier news on Rohingya refugees refusing that it has not directed illegal foreigners to provide apartment and police protection.

Hours after the news broke over the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar to be allotted apartments and provided with police protection was now cleared by the Home Minster Of India, that it has not given any directions to provide Economically Weaker Section (EWS) flats to Rohingya illegal migrants at Bakkarwala in New Delhi.

However, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has tweeted earlier this morning saying, “In a landmark decision all Rohingya Refugees will be shifted to EWS flats in Bakkarwala area of Delhi. They will be provided basic amenities, UNHCR IDs and round-the-clock Police protection.”

It says that Govt of Delhi proposed to shift the Rohingyas to a new location. “Illegal foreigners are to be kept in Detention Centre till their deportation as per law. The Government of Delhi has not declared the present location as a Detention Centre. They have been directed to do the same immediately” it added.
