The Indian Army received a lot of appreciation on Twitter for exhibiting communal cohesion.
The Army posted a series of photos of the Iftar party on Monday. This came only days after trolls targeted images of an Army-hosted Iftar party in Jammu’s Doda area.
“Keeping alive the traditions of secularism, an Iftar was organized by the Indian Army at Arnora in Doda district,” the defence ministry’s public relations officer (PRO) wrote on April 21.
The pictures indicate the General Officer Commanding the Delta Force of the Indian Army interacting with local Muslims. The tweet, however, sparked a strong outcry from trolls, prompting the Defence PRO to delete it.
The Army in Srinagar shared a photo of Lt Gen DP Pandey offering namaz among other top officers.
In Srinagar, Lt Gen DP Pandey attended Namaz-e-Maghrib with soldiers from the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre in 2021.
On Twitter, several people complimented the Indian Army for demonstrating communal peace and leading by example.
