To protest the arbitrary killing of street dogs in Kerala due to an increase in dog bite incidences, animal rights activists held a peaceful demonstration on Saturday at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Canines are allegedly being ruthlessly slaughtered in the southern state and numerous other regions of the country, despite the fact that the case is still pending and the Supreme Court has issued rulings protecting street dogs from injury.
They claimed that because it is commonplace in many areas of the nation, the supreme court has also ruled against removing street dogs from their original regions. There were a lot of youngsters and adolescents protesting there, holding signs that said things like “there is no excuse for animal mistreatment” and “in loving memory of all the lives lost to human cruelty, greed, neglect, bigotry, and brutality.”
Over 100 street dogs in Bellary, Karnataka, were released into the jungle while having their jaws and legs bound with metal wires. In Belgaum, Karnataka, 60 additional street canines were beaten, shackled, and dumped outside the city limits.
