Karnataka Police Dept. invited Transgender Application…

For the first time, the Karnataka government has invited transgender persons to apply for positions in the state police department. It has a favorable impact on transgender people.

The Karnataka Police Department has invited transgenders to apply for various positions under the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, in order to expedite the provision of one percent jobs to transgenders.

Four special Reserve sub-inspector positions with the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and one special Reserve sub-inspector position with the India Reserve Battalion would be earmarked for transgenders, according to a recent notification.

Transgender candidates must get a certificate from the district magistrate under the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules 2020, drafted by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is required to have a certificate.

The announcement was made by the Additional Director General of Police (Recruitment). Five of the 70 positions are reserved for transgender people. Candidates who are transgender can apply for jobs online until January 18th.
