Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, has heard explosions
Oleksiy Kuleba, the regional governor of Kyiv, claimed that air defence systems were in operation during the Russia-Ukraine War.

According to Reuters, explosions were heard early on Wednesday in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. However, there was no immediate official confirmation of the blasts. According to the article, the capital and the area around it had been under air raid siren alerts for around 20 minutes prior to the explosions, according to maps provided by the emergency services.
The region of Kyiv's governor, Oleksiy Kuleba, said that air defence systems were in operation. Blasts early on Wednesday morning, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, struck the Shevchenkivskyi area in the city's centre.
On the Telegram messaging platform, Klitschko wrote, "Emergency services dispatched." Details will follow.
