London: Hindus protest outside Guardian office for biased articles blaming Hindus for Leicester violence
Hindus in the United Kingdom gathered on September 28, 2022, in front of the Guardian News building in London to protest their biased coverage of the violence in Leicester, which cast the Hindu community in a negative light despite the fact that it was the victim of the incident in which a Hindu temple was vandalized. Journalists Jessica Murray, Aina J. Khan, and Rajeev Syal are to blame for The Guardian’s biased reporting, which has outraged the Hindu community.
The protestors handed a memorandum addressed to Katharine Viner, editor of the Guardian, to the Chief of Security of the media house after the protest. Protestors said that they were very concerned about the media house’s anti-Hindu bias and anti-India bias, and that the media house published articles daily condemning Hindus for various acts. Hindus want the Guardian to tone down its anti-India rhetoric since the Guardian articles are creating hate for Hindus in the country. As a result of the anti-Hindu hate triggered by the newspaper, Hindus may suffer harm.
The Hindu community leader believes that most of the articles are written by Indians using half-truths to support their anti-Hindu agenda, specifically designed to create a negative perception of Hindus. According to him, the Guardian does not adhere to any standard of professional journalism coming from Delhi. The protest today was supposed to be a warning to the Guardian to stop publishing anti-Hindu and anti-India content if they continue to do so.
