At the Inter-state Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati, a team of officers from Gorchuk Police Station in Guwahati detained one Kinder M Sangma of South Garo Hills (SGH), Meghalaya, carrying fake Indian currency notes (FICN) worth Rs.7 lakhs. The police conducted an operation after receiving some information, and the man was arrested. According to police, he is a native of Tura in Meghalaya’s neighboring state.
The suspect was about to leave Guwahati and travel to Tura from ISBT, according to police, but he was apprehended before his bus left the terminal. Additional inquiry is underway, and legal action has been taken. The person was then apprehended by the police. Kinder M Sangma has been identified as the suspect. He bought the cash notes from another person in Guwahati, according to reports.
Guwahati police took to Twitter to say, “At ISBT today, a WGPD squad from Gorchuk PS nabbed Kinder M Sangma of South Garo Hills, Meghalaya, with FICN valued Rs. 7 lakh. Additional inquiry is underway, and legal action has been taken.”
