Mark Laitflang Stone, an award-winning serial entrepreneur and the Founder-CEO of Avenues, will represent Meghalaya at the Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) 2022 from May 31 to June 4.
Mark, who is also the lone representative from the North East, will attend the event in Sydney and Melbourne with 14 other Indian delegates, according to a statement.
Mark was also honored with the Northeast Young Heroes Award for Education in 2020 and the Asian Youth Empowerment Leader Award in 2021.
“A increasing number of young leaders in North-East India are moving into the entrepreneurship area and forming teams from local and regional talent. “Having a delegate from Meghalaya representing the entire region at the conference this year may be seen as an opportunity to showcase the enterprising nature of its youth, as well as a catalyst for future collaborations with the region’s own network of home-grown youth leaders, resulting in mutual prosperity for the two countries,” according to the statement.
In the meantime, Mark expressed gratitude to the authorities for allowing him to represent India.
The youth-led conference’s main goal is to strengthen the bilateral relationship by fostering people-to-people connections, embracing cultural and multidimensional diversity, and encouraging a young leadership community.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian colleague Scott Morrison have both written letters of support for the yearly conversation.
