MEA condemns reports on China renaming areas, saying Arunachal Pradesh will always be a part of India.

“Arunachal Pradesh has always been and always will be a vital part of India.” “Assigning fabricated names to places in Arunachal Pradesh does not change this fact,” the Ministry of External Affairs stated in a statement in response to claims that China had renamed several Arunachal Pradesh locations in its own language.

Even while soldiers from the two countries have been locked in an eyeball-to-eyeball standoff all along the disputed line in eastern Ladakh for the past 20 years, China has renamed 15 locations in Arunachal Pradesh to bolster its claim to India’s northeastern state.

Beijing claims 90,000 square kilometres in Arunachal Pradesh, India, as Chinese territory, referring to it as Zangnan, or south Tibet. New Delhi, on the other hand, denies Beijing’s claim, claiming that the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh is and always will be an integral part of India and that renaming it will not change that.
