Meghalaya: 13 Year Old Died After A Tree Fell On The Auto-Rickshaw He Was Travelling

In a tragic occurrence that occurred today in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya, a 13-year-old kid died when a tree fell in the vehicle he was traveling in.


At before 9 a.m. today, a large tree fell on the autorickshaw they were riding in at Umtrew Pabitola in Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi district of the state, killing a 13-year-old boy and badly injuring two others.


According to police sources, the driver and one of the occupants were critically injured in the accident, but a 13-year-old child was killed.

However, heavy rain has triggered flooding in Meghalaya and Assam in recent days. The cause of the tree fall is yet unknown, whether it was caused by weather conditions.
