In a horrifying event that was reported from Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills, police have solved a two-month-old case of a teenage girl’s murder by her purportedly jealous lover with the assistance of a little accomplice. On June 25, North Garo Hills officials unearthed the body of the missing girl from a small burial.
Days after going missing, the body of a 19-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered was discovered in Tura.
The girl’s family members from Tura reported her missing on April 20, according to West Garo Hills Superintendent VS Rathore.
The Tura Women PS then opened an investigation after registering a report.
A person was detained in the Bajengdoba region on June 22 based on a reasonable suspicion, and a child in conflict with the law (CICL) was later detained as a suspect. The accused person acknowledged during questioning that he had been dating the girl for two to three years. He had doubts about her having a relationship with a different boy. Then he and his accomplice the child started spying on her for a while.
The girl was summoned to Bajengdoba on April 20 under the pretence of settling their differences, and the following night, she was allegedly murdered, according to the police.
Near Sona Chiring, next to Didram river, approximately a kilometer from the house of the arrested boyfriend, the body of the young girl was recovered on Saturday afternoon. An electric pole approximately 100 metres from the house, where the deceased’s mobile phone was buried, was also recovered. Upon arrival at Tura, the body will undergo postmortem examination.
A charge sheet will soon be filed, according to the police, who claimed an investigation is ongoing.
