WATCH: Angry mob thrashes man for kissing his wife while bathing in Saryu River in Ayodhya
A man was beaten up in a video that is currently going viral in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, for kissing his wife in the Saryu river.
The man is seen being pushed and pulled from the river by an enraged mob, who then surround him. One individual is seen cursing at the spouse and inquiring if he has any family at home. An investigation into the incident has been opened by the police. A discussion on Indian culture has since erupted on Twitter as a result of the occurrence, which has split internet users.
The woman makes an effort to shield her husband but is unsuccessful. The mob eventually throws the couple out of the water.
After a fictitious video of the event went viral, authorities started an enquiry. Even while some people said the incident occurred at Ram ki Paudi ghat on Tuesday, a police officer said the precise date of the incident had not yet been determined.
According to the officer, no complaints have yet been made about it. To find the couple and the criminals who attacked them, the officer added, “But we are looking into the matter.”
Hindus consider the Sarayu river to be one of the seven holy tributaries of Ganga. There is a river named Sarayu that runs through Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram.
