The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), which released its HSSLC Science, Commerce, and Vocational stream results yesterday, issued a notification on Thursday finalizing the protocols and schedule for admission to undergraduate programmes in state colleges, marking a first in the state. Colleges have been required to distribute admission forms and prospectuses in both online and offline formats at a reasonable cost to students, according to the notification.
The deadline for submitting B.Sc. and B.Com. forms has been set for June 3. On June 6, the first list and waiting list will be announced.
However, the HSSLC Arts results for 2022 have yet to be announced, but for B.A., the last date for submitting forms is June 10 and the first list and waiting list will be announced on June 13. The deadline for submitting forms for professional courses (excluding LLB) is June 14, and the first list and waiting list will be announced on June 16.
Students should be given at least seven days from the date of the admission list’s announcement to pay their fees.
All institutes have been told to set up a website and submit a basic admissions form for pupils to download. Institutes must post a notice on their websites notifying visitors that admission forms can be obtained from any cyber café or community service center in their respective blocks or districts.
It was also stated that a dual option of online and offline submission will be used, with online submissions being possible as soon as the applicants’ documents are accessible.
In light of the current Covid 19 rules, it is also recommended that institutions collect admission forms in a staggered way, limit the number of people to a maximum of 400 per day, and designate different sessions if there is a rush in submitting applications.
Fees for various courses at various institutions should only be paid online using various RBI-approved online bank transfer/payment platforms. Institutes must provide dedicated bank account numbers, as well as other information such as bank name, branch, and IFSC code, either on the application form or on the website, and that fees can be paid offline in cases where students are from remote areas (only) and this mode is the only viable option. In such areas, cash or check payments may be permitted once all processes and social distance conventions have been rigorously observed, it stated.
The notification also stated that from June 23 onwards, the second phase of admissions to various streams/courses will be open, with the same procedures ensuring that all protocols and social distancing standards are carefully followed.
