Meghalaya police arrested five smugglers with Heroin worth Rs 3 crore in Shillong city
Meghalaya Police arrested five people and seized four vehicles used in the commision of crimes as part of a crackdown on drug dealers in Shillong.
According to the police, one Eco Sport ML05 U 1782 was intercepted by ANTF EKH at Jingkieng Demthring at around 6.15 pm on Sunday after receiving an information.
According to syllad report, Shaniah Kharmawphlang, a 19-year-old driver, had 40 soap containers containing 564 gms of heroin worth Rs 3 crore recovered from her car. His accomplice, Daniel Nongrum, age 20 and from Nongrah Nongpdeng, was apprehended right away, along with his Pulsar bike, serial number ML05S9546.
Esther Ramhmangaih, 37, was identified as the supplier after additional questioning. She was taken into custody at her home in Madanriting Thembasuk Block F along with Rs 4,42,00 in cash.
Two couriers, Robinson Hmar, 19, of Bawngkawn, Aizawl, and Letminlen Doungel, 30, of Tuibong, Churachandpur, Manipur, were detained on her property, together with a Mahendra Bolero AS03 M 9080 and a Suzuki Burgman scooter, both of which had cash totalling Rs 2,19,510.
From the 5 people detained, a total of 6 cell phones have also been seized.
For further enquiry, Rynjah PS has received a case that the police have filed under the NDPS Act.
