Following the death of the victim on Sunday afternoon when the Bluetooth speaker he was plugging in exploded, suspicions of foul play have been raised regarding the death of a 14-year-old child from the Bolsalgre neighbourhood of Baghmara.
The blast’s intensity caused the victim’s limbs to be severed, which caused his spot death. The crime happened while the victim, Jingjang Sangma, was at home. According to accounts, the family received the speaker from a well-known friend, but it wasn’t utilised until Sunday.
While his family was out front, Jingjang unwrapped the package and plugged in the speaker. His demise was caused by the device’s explosion, which happened as soon as he connected it to a power source.
In addition to confirming that a complaint has been filed, South Garo Hills Police expressed scepticism that the Bluetooth speaker explosion could have caused the fatality and the following devastation of the incident’s location. Aside from breaking window glass, the explosion also caused furniture to fracture.
“The enquiry is ongoing, and we are expecting an FSL report on the occurrence. The lopsided blast proportion raises the suspicion that something about the incident does not line up. A speaker explosion cannot do this much damage, but once we have the FSL report, we will be able to respond more effectively, said Superintendent of Police Rituraj Ravi.
Locals have suspected foul play in the 14-year-death old’s ever since the occurrence, although that won’t be confirmed for some time. Once information is available, action is anticipated.
