Philadelphia mass shooting leads three people dead and 13 others shot and injured

The series of mass shootings in the U.S continues with another incident recorded in Philadelphia once again after the weeks apart from the shooting that took place near Philadelphia’s Temple University wounded five people last month, May 18, in which two people were in extremely critical condition. On Saturday night incident at least 13 people were shot and three were reported killed, according to the police.

Gunfire erupted in the city’s bustling South Street neighborhood near 3rd Street shortly before midnight, Philadelphia police told, WPVI (is a television station in Philadelphia).

Police have reported an emergency call by an individual of a man having a gun in a large crowd. In responding to a 911 call police upon arrival saw a male firing into a crowd of people.

The responding officer at a time in retaliation fired back with his service weapon three times at the suspect, police said. It’s unclear if he was hit.

The Philadelphia investigator reported that the suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. Although, It’s not clear if he was struck by police.

The injured seven victims were rushed to the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, including one of the deceased victims. Where five others were taken to Pennsylvania Hospital, including the suspect, police announced to the media outlets. And Three other victims were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

There have been no arrests made at this time. Cops said a gun was recovered at the scene.

The Philadelphia Police Department urged in concern, just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning, to avoid the crime screen area, “Several people have been injured. Please avoid the area.”
