Police seek control over a crowd of mostly young people who had gathered in the central neighborhood of Chatelet to protest. The riot led police charged and sprayed teargas on the demonstration in central Paris protesting after president Emmanuel Macron won re-election on Sunday.
Emmanuel Malcolm defeated his rival Marine Le Pen in the presidential election, saying the new term would not continue and unchanged from the last five years.
By winning a second-time five-years term and preventing what would otherwise have been a major political upset. Although Macron won by an easy margin, that was expected to settle at the highest since 1969 with a substantial chunk of voters unwillingly to what for either Macron or Le Pen.

On Sunday’s runoff students and other universities protested outside the Sorbonne in Paris to express their disillusionment with their choice on offer in their first round of voting.
“An answer must be found to be anger and disagreement that led many of our compatriots to vote for the extreme right. It will be my responsibility and that of those me”, the president said.
