In the Himachal Pradesh districts of Chamba and Sirmaur, two people died in two separate rain-related events. After a boulder struck the car in which they were travelling, one person died and four others suffered injuries.
On Monday morning, the accident took place along the section of highway that runs from Tundi to Baneta.
A rock struck the van, which was transporting five people. Director of state disaster management authority Sudesh Kumar Mokta stated that a thorough report is still pending after one individual died on spot. In Samkot village, the injured are currently receiving medical attention.
One person was also buried behind debris at Chuli, Tehsil Dadahu, District Sirmaur.
Surinder Singh has been named as the deceased.
Lila Devi and Pratikhit, two injured people, were transferred to a hospital in Nahan, Sirmaur’s district headquarters.
Shalkar hamlet in the tribal Kinnaur district was flooded by a cloudburst that happened near the China border, although no fatalities were reported.
According to deputy commissioner Kinnaur Abid Hussain Sadiq, a cloudburst on Sunday night devastated agricultural fields and apple orchards. According to him, three automobiles also sustained damage.
