Raj Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) head, appealed to his party’s workers on Monday not to perform the planned ‘Maha Aarti’ on the occasion of ‘Akshay Tritiya’ on May 3 since he does not want to cause any problems for Muslims during the Eid season.
He underlined that his anti-loudspeaker campaign was a societal issue, and that he will reveal his future plans on Twitter on Tuesday.

In the midst of a political squabble over the use of loudspeakers at mosques, Raj Thackeray warned on Sunday that if loudspeakers are not removed, the Hanuman Chalisa will be played at twice the level of the Azaan (a Muslim call to prayer) starting May 4.
Loudspeaker is not a religious matter, according to Thackeray, but it is a national issue, and he warned that if they do not stop, we would also take a stand.
