In the most recent development in the horrific Shraddha Walkar murder case, in which the victim's body was chopped into 35 pieces and later strewn at multiple locations throughout the national capital, a letter that Shraddha wrote to the Police has been revealed. Aaftab Poonawala, the defendant in her murder case, allegedly used to beat her and threaten to kill her, according to a letter purportedly delivered to the police at the Tulinj Police Station with the date November 23, 2020.
This fresh perspective on the shocking murder case has been revealed, mainly from Shraddha's neighbour who went to the police station with her. Additionally, the Maharashtra Police confirmed that the complaint was submitted on November 23, 2020, in addition to establishing the validity of the latter to have been written by Shraddha.
The victim said in the questioned letter that Aaftab had threatened to murder her and she lacked the guts to call the police. Shraddha said that he threatened to kill her, chop her body, and discard her on the day she was writing the letter.
The victim's letter further stated, "Since we were set to get married shortly with the approval of his family, I have lived with him ever since. I'm not going to live with him anymore. Therefore, any physical harm should be taken as coming from him since he has been extorting me to kill or harm me everytime he sees me around."
The relationship between the two people who met through a dating app began about 2019. This may be noted here. However, following the letter's retrieval, it appears that they did not separate even after the police report. Both of them, who worked in call centres, moved to the capital city this year in May and settled into an apartment in the Mehrauli neighbourhood.
Only this month, after Shraddha Walkar's father contacted the police and informed them that she was not in communication with her friends either, did the murder that occurred in May come to light.
