Suspected Naxal militants blew up a section of railway track on the Howrah-New Delhi mainline between Chichaki and Chaudharybandh stations in the early hours of Thursday.
Officials from the railway and local police have arrived on the scene to assess the situation.
The railways have also begun work on repairing the train track that has been damaged.
